"Mayasabha Is Not a Product but a Wealth You're Going to Consume" – Director Deva Katta Declares at the Grand Trailer Launch; Premiering on Sony LIV from August 7

India’s leading streaming platform, Sony LIV, has taken the internet by storm with the launch of the gripping trailer of its much-awaited Telugu original series, “Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans.” Created by visionary filmmaker Deva Katta, it features Aadi Pinishetty and Chaitanya Rao Madadi in lead roles. This intense political drama traces the transformation of two close friends into ideological rivals, heading opposing political parties.

Inspired by key political events from erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh (1974–2009), the series’ first season focuses on their journey from student life to emerging political leaders during the turbulent period between 1974 and 1983. The series is jointly directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar and is slated for a worldwide premiere on August 7.

The trailer launch event was held today in Hyderabad with Sai Durgha Tej gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The cast, crew, and media attended the grand event.

The trailer opens with the first encounter of the protagonists, Krishna Kanth Naidu (Aadi Pinishetty) and MS Rami Reddy (Chaitanya Rao Madadi). Though initially driven by different ambitions, both are pulled into politics with the aim to serve people. However, their ideological divergence and circumstances turn them into fierce political rivals. The gripping trailer teases themes of brotherhood, betrayal, and political power play, setting the stage for an explosive saga. The trailer increases the expectations further and makes audiences eagerly wait for the series.

Speaking at the event, Sai Durgha Tej said, "I share a very special bond with Deva garu. My journey with him began when he made Autonagar Surya. After watching the teaser of that film, I called him, introduced myself, and specifically praised his voiceover in it. Since then, I have frequently requested him to make a film with me. After many years, we finally collaborated in 2021. During my dark times in that same year, Deva garu stood by me like a ray of light. His support meant the world to me. I honestly can't put it into words. Coming to Mayasabha, I remember Deva garu once told me that he had a story with two lead characters, meant to be told in three parts. I even told him I would audition for it! He has been working on this idea for over 10 years. I wholeheartedly wish the entire cast, technicians, and everyone involved in Mayasabha all the very best. I truly hope the series brings great success to everyone who’s been a part of it.”

Mayasabha's creator, Deva Katta, stated, “Mayasabha is a beautiful imagination and a cherished dream. It’s about two friends who share a deep bond but are forced to become political rivals due to grander events beyond their control. I’ve wanted to explore this idea since my childhood. In 2016, Sree Harsha came to me with a concept, a story about two friends set against the political landscape of united Andhra Pradesh, spanning the 1970s to the early 2000s. It reminded me of something in the tone of House of Cards, and I loved it immediately. I initially planned to make it as a film. However, during the pandemic, I started rewriting it as a web series with a seasonal structure. It took time for Mayasabha to find its destiny and I genuinely believe it couldn’t have found a better home than this."
